CONSULTATION
- Patients who walk into the clinic for the first time will undergo a complete visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment options and recommendations.
- Patient’s complete medical and dental history will be recorded.
- Patient will be briefed regarding the diagnosis and treatment plan.
SCALING (TEETH CLEANING)
- Procedure involves removal of plaque (soft, sticky, bacterial infested film), calculus (tartar) and stains that have built up on the teeth overtime.
- Depending upon the extent of spread of the calculus and stains patients may require single/multiple sittings
- Management of stains depends on the underlying cause
- IF EXTERNAL STAINS (TEA, COFFEE, SMOKING): Scaling is applicable
- IF INTERNAL STAINS (TRAUMA, FLUOROSIS, CAVITIES): Scaling alone is not applicable. In such cases, the patient will be advised, alternative treatment plan.
- Scaling is usually followed by polishing for best results
EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS
- Patients who come to us with severe tooth pain/swelling/accidental fall resulting in tooth fracture /injury will be attended to immediately.
- Appropriate emergency care will be provided.
- The follow-up visits will be clearly explained to the patient.
